Merry Christmas!

A little Christmas poem inspired by cross-country texts about our Christmas Eve breakfasts:

Carrot cake in a bowl
Or egg in a hole:
The choice is up to you.
It depends on your needs
And what else you have to do.
But whatever the case,
I hope you have a smile on your face.
It’s Christmas Eve
And you better believe
It’s a day worth celebrating
No matter your breakfast.
Christ came to earth
Through virgin birth
As a baby boy
To give us great joy.
Eat, drink, and be merry,
For our sins He did carry
To make for us an eternal home
Where we won’t care about meals,
But will instead worship Jesus, in person, for real!

Merry Christmas Eve to all.
May we all heed heaven’s call
To enjoy the gifts of today
Even as we await the greatest gift—
Days eternal in heaven
With Christ Jesus our Lord!
