There are many reasons for sorrow in this world. It is often difficult to be happy with all the hardness of life. But in the midst of it all, God can gladden the heart. He can give joy independent of circumstances.
Psalm 5:11
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
Psalm 9:2
I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
Psalm 14:7
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
